European Union (EU)

European Union Blue Card is a path to Immigration to Europe and for those wanting to work in Europe. The "Blue EU Labour Card", has been inspired by the US "green card" and takes its name from the EU flag.
The aim of the Blue Card is to give EU companies the ability to easily recruit highly skilled workers with specialized skills which are difficult to find in the European Union. The European Commission says the EU needs 20 million skilled immigrants over the next 20 years, especially in the computer technology and engineering sectors.
Currently many companies have difficulty finding suitable workers to fill specialist positions within the Healthcare, Engineering, Science & Information Technology Sectors and tourism. It is predicted the EU economy will need between 384,000 and 700,000 IT workers by 2015, and by 2020, between one and two million health-care workers.
The blue card will help EU employers who need to bring in foreign skilled labour to fill these types of specialist level jobs.

About EU Blue Card

A job offer in an EU Country is mandatory to apply for an EU Blue card visa.

For the first two years, the migrant must live and work in the country from where the blue card is initially issued.  After this, the migrant can move to any other country if you can find work there.

The  “Skills and Talents “ permit can be issued to a foreigner named as a legal representative in an company if he meets the following cumulative criteria :
a. Gross monthly earnings of at least 3 times the  French established minimal wage (SMIC)
b. Mission in France longer than 6 months.
c. He proves he has been with the company for over 3 months.
Minimum wage in France is currently about 1400 Euros per month.

Norway's Skilled Jobseeker Residence Permit allows you to live in Norway for 6 months, search for jobs & interview with employers. Visas are granted in less than 3 months.

Eligibility :

Foreigners who wish to apply for a skilled Jobseeker visa must fulfill one of these requirements:

Possess a Vocational trainings/Craft course/University Degree or a higher Special qualifications from a Recognised Universities around the world meeting to the standards of Norway and relevant to their nominated occupation.

What is a Tier 2 visa?
Tier 2 skilled work permit is for medium and highly skilled workers who wish to migrate to the UK with an employment offer from a British company

How can an employer obtain a sponsorship license?
The employer should register with the UK Border Agency as a Licensed Sponsor and satisfy the requirements under this category. The organization will be subjected to immigration compliance checks and should adhere to several record keeping and reporting duties for the applicants it sponsors. Employers are awarded either an A or B level sponsorship license.

What is the maintenance fund an applicant needs to show?
To earn 10 points in this category, applicants should show personal savings of £800 (£533 per dependent) or written confirmation from their sponsor that the sponsor will maintain and accommodate them until the end of the first month of their work in the United Kingdom.

How long can I stay?
It depends on the mode of application. If you are applying as a skilled worker under tier 2, outside the UK then you will be able to live or work there for maximum of 3 years plus 1 month or the time given in the sponsorship certificate plus 1 month. If you’re inside the UK and are switching into the skilled worker category, you are allowed to stay for the period of three years or the time given in the sponsorship certificate plus 14 days more.

What if I would like to stay further?
At the end of the 3 years stay in the UK, you need to apply for the extension. The extension is approved for 2 more years. After a 5 year stay in the UK, you can apply for indefinite leave to remain.

Can I bring my dependents?
Spouse, common law, civil or unmarried life partner of the candidate ad any dependent children can travel to the UK at the same time. The dependents would be permitted the same period of leave as of the principal applicant and as dependents they may be able to work in the UK.


Austria RWR Card is an excellent option for foreigners, which allows them to qualify under point base system, to seek job in Austria. This category is for students who graduated and completed a part of education in Austria at a College or University level and have a Job offer relevant to the education

Social Affairs Minister Rudolf Hundstorfer said that Austria must import migrant labour to deal with skills shortages over the next 10 to 15 years.

Benefits of RWR Card :
The Highly Qualified Worker program is a points based scheme that allows you to work in Austria without a Job offer. You are allowed to stay for 6 months- without a Job offer.
The RWR card will be issued for 12 months after finding a Job which is relevant to your qualifications. This will also allow you to take your spouse and children below 18. Your spouse can obtain a RWR card Plus and start working in Austria.

RWR card plus with complete labor market access can be provided after completing at least 10 months with the current employer which further allows you to gain the permanent residency after 5 years of residence status.

New Zealand

Skilled Migrant Category Visa :

To apply under the Skilled Migrant Category New Zealand, you must meet the basic requirements. You need to be aged 55 or under. You also have to meet the NZ standards of health, character, and English language proficiency.

  • You must meet at least 100 points to lodge your expression of interest. However, applications that meet 140 will get selected automatically.

  • If you do not have current employment or Job offer from New Zealand, must require to have experience in the areas of Absolute skills shortage or Comparable labor market countries to claim points on experience.
  • Every fortnight a POOL draw will happen and all selected applications will be sent invitations, an application for residence must be made within 4 months.
  • Based on the assessment a Residence visa (2 yrs residence) or a Job Search visa (9 months) can be granted. Work to residence can be converted by updating the department with a Job offer.

United States of America


All L1 employees must have been employed by the overseas company for at least one of the three years preceding the transfer unless they are beneficiary of a blanket L1.

Employee should have been directly or indirectly employed by the overseas company. It could even be a freelance employee as long as the sponsor had management & control over the worker for one of the last three years.

The employee should have been employed as an executive, manager or specialized knowledge worker. Managers & Executives should be supervising professional and managerial staff & teams and control and direct day to day operations. Specialized workers should be fully trained & familiar with the company’s products, methods, processes & procedures.

Who can be sponsored on an L1 visa?

Managers  / Executives : You will be required to show that you are a senior professional staff of a key function, department or division of the company. Also, your job is of a supervisory nature and you have a team / teams reporting to you. Visa will be granted for a 3 year period and is extendible twice to a maximum of seven years. .

Specialized Knowledge Staff : You must show that you have knowledge of the company's products/services, research, systems, proprietary techniques, management, or procedures. You will get a visa for 3 years extended to a maximum period of 5 years.
When you have completed the maximum period you must return to your home country and be employed with your company for a minimum of one year and then make a new L1 or H1 application


Regular Program

A person investing $500,000 in certain circumstances or $1 million in a business that creates 10 jobs may be granted EB-5 permanent resident status.
The basic government criteria for this status are:

  1. Investment must be in a business, not a passive investment such as the stock market;
  2. Invested funds must be the individual's, but may be a gift from a parent or other person,
  3. The business must have been created after November 29, 1990 or the investment must substantially change an older business.;
  4. The amount of investment may be $500,000 in a rural or high unemployment area.
